KNIT FABRICS

AN OVERVIEW OF
KNIT FABRICS

There are many basic methods of making clothes, and knitting is one of the oldest of them. There are Egyptian knitted artefacts that date back to the 5th century AD. Hand-knitting can be done with just needles and yarn, and it doesn’t need heavy equipment like looms. A variety of knitting machines are also available today, to create knitted fabrics more quickly and automatically.
Knitting is the construction of an elastic, porous fabric, created by interlocking yarns by means of needles. Knitted fabrics can be made much more quickly and easily than woven fabrics at a comparatively less cost.
